ADDICTIONS COMMITTEE: This committee represent and serves the interest of social workers in addiction services.
ANNUAL AWARDS DINNER: Plan’s the chapter’s annual meeting and selects the recipients of various annual awards. COMMITTEE CHARGE
ANNUAL CONFERENCE: Plan’s and coordinates the chapter’s annual conference.
CLINICAL SOCIAL WORK NETWORK: This network represents and serve the interests of clinical social workers. Activities include planning clinical workshops and conducting Town Hall meetings. COMMITTEE CHARGE
COMMITTEE ON AGING: Provides networking and educational opportunities for social workers in geriatric practices, offers a speakers bureau, engages in legislative issues, and awareness of aging issues within the field of social work COMMITTEE CHARGE
COMMITTEE ON ETHICS: Conducts training on ethical issues. Assists in enforcing the Code of Ethics.
CONNECTICUT ALLIANCE OF SCHOOL SOCIAL WORKERS COMMITTEE: The Alliance of School Social Workers is a network of NASW/CT. The purposes include: advocating for school social work services in public schools; promoting the hiring of school social workers by school districts, protecting current school social worker positions, providing a network for school social workers, and offering networking and continuing education opportunities for school social workers. Regional as well as statewide programs will be sponsored by the Alliance. Open to all school social workers, school social work interns and social workers interested in school social work. CONTINUING EDUCATION COMMITTEE: Implements the Chapter’s Continuing Education Credits Approval Program, in accordance with State of Connecticut law and regulation. Oversees needs assessment, planning and delivery of workshops that are sponsored by NASW/CT (apart from the Annual Conference). COMMITTEE CHARGE
DIVERSITY COMMITTEE: This committee assures that NASW/CT represents and advocates for diversified populations. COMMITTEE CHARGE
LATINO/A SOCIAL WORKERS NETWORK: The network represents the interests of Latino/a Social Workers. They have a mentorng program for Latino/a social work students and an Annual Recognition Event.
ELAN (Education and Legislative Action Network): Researches, develops, monitors, and lobbies on the chapter’s legislative priorities. Conducts the annual Lobby Day at the Capital. Oversees the chapter’s legislative network. Lobby Days will be scheduled for Students, practitioner and retirees, to join the NASW legislative co chair and NASW Interns at the State House and meet with CT legislators to advocate for the NASW legislative agenda COMMITTEE CHARGE
EXECUTIVE COMMITTEE: Plans the Board agenda, oversees chapter activities in collaboration with the Executive Committee and acts on behalf of the Board of Directors between Board meetings.
FINANCE: Oversees the chapter’s fiscal operation, recommends annual budget, monitors chapter’s income and expenditures, monitors chapter’s investments, plans for enhancing non-dues revenue.
MACRO SOCIAL WORKERS NETWORK: This network is for social workers who practice macro social work or who are interested in macro social work. It serves as a vehicle for macro social workers to share ideas, network, and advance macro social work as a practice field. COMMITTEE CHARGE
PACE (Political Action for Candidate Election): Chapter’s political action committee for electoral politics. Endorses candidates, contributes to campaigns, organizes members to work on campaigns and educates members on electoral issues. Has separate appointed Board of Trustees.
