The NASW-CT proudly continues our tradition of hosting Connecticut’s largest gathering of professional social workers, educators, advocates, and students. The event brings together hundreds of participants from across Connecticut and surrounding states. This year’s 39th Annual Conference will be held on May 21, 2026, at the Double Tree by Hilton in Bristol, CT. Please join us for a full day of learning, sharing, and collaborating with one another while advancing the field of social work. The day will include innovative programming, networking, and inspiring workshops and speakers. We also invite you to join us on May 20th for the Student Summit and Annual Awards Celebration.

The Conference Committee is currently accepting workshop proposals that explore topics at all levels of social work practice (micro, mezzo and macro). Workshop presentations should appeal to experienced social workers, those new to the field, and students, as well as others in allied fields. We are seeking proposals for 1.5- hour, 2-hour and 3-hour continuing education (CE) programs. We invite you to submit your proposal and encourage all formats of teaching and learning, including workshops, panels, experiential activities, and presentations. We encourage you to share your expertise, passion, and vision. We look forward to proposals that demonstrate innovation in the work we do at all levels of practice, as well as clinical interventions that effectively support and represent the diversity of the clients we serve.

The NASW-CT proudly supports the National March Social Work month theme each year at our conference, and we are excited to announce this year’s theme will be " Social Workers: Defend, Uplift, Transform” This theme describes the core functions of social work: social workers defend vulnerable individuals and communities by advocating for their rights and needs, uplift them by providing support and resources to improve their circumstances, and transform lives and communities by working toward long-term social justice, empowerment, and positive change. This is achieved through various means, including case management, counseling, advocacy, and policy change.

We will focus on topics that embrace this year’s theme, are relevant to critical and emerging social work and provide needed cultural competency and Veterans credit. We look forward to your participation in the NASW-CT 39th Annual Conference this year.

The deadline to submit proposals is Monday, February 16, 2026.  All submissions must come through our online submission process. Please note that the NASW-CT Conference Committee will review the proposals without the presenter names included. Please do not include any identifying information on the proposal you are uploading.
