Registry for Supervisors

Julia Israelski, LCSW, PMH-C

Specializations

Adults

I am a graduate of Columbia University, school of Social Work. After graduation I completed a 2 year fellowship in psychotherapy and worked in multiple settings, schools, agencies, hospitals. My practice focus is in Trauma and as such I have pursued multiple certifications in this area over many years. Knowledge /experience is something that we all acquire over time and supervision needs to be a place where one feels comfortable enough to be who they are at the moment. Supervision should leave a person feeling enriched with knowledge and ready to to bring this knowledge into practice.

Describe your current practice:
After having worked in community based mental health clinics for 7 years I transitioned to full time private practice in 2015. While I have enjoyed working with an eclectic population, I am particularly interested in providing services to adolescent and adult clients with mood disorders, eating disorders, those in the perinatal period or who have experienced interpersonal violence (emotional, sexual, and/or physical abuse) and are struggling with trauma related symptoms. I utilize evidenced based interventions (including EMDR, CBT, DBT, MI, TREM, and TFCBT) to provide strength based, client centered services. Areas of specialization, and anything else you would like potential supervisees to be aware of: I specialize in eating disorders and relational trauma. My goal in supervision is to provide a safe environment to expand my supervisee's skills and strengths. My supervision style is a blend of identifying where you are and helping you get to where you want to be.
