Enhancing Safety & Connection: Clinical Applications of Polyvagal Theory
3 CECs offered by NASW-CT via Zoom, 9:30 to 12:30, presented by Hilary Rudenauer. Click here for more information or to register.
Note: This is a live workshop. You must attend the live version to receive your CEs. Please note this will not be recorded. Please note if you have any questions the day of the training please contact the NASW-CT Office at info.naswct@socialworkers.org.
Join Hilary Rudenauer as we expand upon our basic understanding of Polyvagal Theory and explore how the concepts can be introduced and integrated into clinical practice. Attendees will acquire a variety of tools that can be utilized during sessions to help clients enhance their autonomic awareness and reshape their responses. Participants will gain the knowledge and skills needed to activate the social engagement system to create an environment of safety in which real healing can occur. Learn how to work with the nervous system, rather than against it, to increase impact and ease in the therapeutic experience.
It is anticipated after participating that attendees will be able to:
1. Identify ways to share polyvagal concepts with clients and create a nervous-system informed therapeutic container.
2. Practice cognitive and body-based exercises to raise autonomic awareness and reshape responses.
3. Determine ways to activate the social engagement system to create an environment of safety.
*This is Part 2 of a 2 Part Workshop Series. You do not need to attend both.
